BAREFOOT BOWLS ETIQUETTE

We only have a few rules

It is all about having fun so we don't have many rules although we ask that you abide by those we do have to help protect our facilities and ensure everybody has a great time, injuiry free, while playing Barefoot.

  • Please respect the grass playing surface, if not bowling barefoot or wearing flat-soled shoes (no heels or ripple soles), then thongs or socks are okay. Our green needs to be level and its upkeep is costly.

  • Deliver the bowls as close to the ground as possible, do not drop bowls on the green.

  • When stepping down on to the grass, please step well out away from the edges.

  • Do not sit in or on the ditch, please use the seats provided.

  • No drinks, no running, no driving (excessive speed may cause injury) on the green.

Dress regulations

Any comfortable attire is acceptable . Footwear MUST be worn in the clubhouse.  Thongs and shorts are acceptable but singlets are not.  Some Fancy dress costumes are acceptable - However, no offensive fancy dress outfits are allowed to be worn either on the greens or in the clubhouse.

It will ALWAYS remain at the discretion of NSBC staff to decide what is considered "offensive".  In the instance that an outfit is considered to be offensive, the patron (or patrons) will not be allowed access to the clubhouse or greens until they are dressed appropriately.

Happy bowling from the Northern Suburbs Bowls Club!
